Apple Cinnamon Slow Cooker Oats

I just tried this out last night for the first time. It was nice to wake up to something warm and already prepared, but there were a few changes I think I would make (which I will walk you through). I would definitely try them out, especially if you are an oatmeal person!

Apple Cinnamon Slow Cooker Oats



  • cooking spray
  • 2 small apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats (or steel cut)
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup light vanilla soy milk
  • 2 tbsp light maple syrup (or brown sugar)
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp golden raisins
  • drizzle of honey

Spray the sides and bottom of your slow cooker with cooking spray (this is very important!). Chop your 2 apples, I left the skin on, but you can take the skin off if you prefer! Into your crockpot, add the chopped apples, oats, flax, cinnamon, water, soy milk, syrup, salt, and raisins. If you like your oatmeal a little sweeter, I would recommend adding 3 Tbsp of light maple syrup OR 3 Tbsp brown sugar. I only had maple syrup on hand, but I would have used brown sugar if possible (I just like the taste of brown sugar better). Stir the ingredients once or twice (not too much!), put your slow cooker on low, and let sit overnight, between 7-8 hours. In the morning, scoop yourself a bowl and add a drizzle of honey. I also added a little dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt. Enjoy your oats!
