I am a proud Ohioan and graduate of The Ohio State University who now happily resides in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been a practicing Registered Dietitian for about 3 1/2 years and received a Certificate in Training for Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management in 2017. I have a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Arizona State University and am currently working full time as a pediatric dietitian in hematology/oncology. I love my job and responsibility to help children with a greater need for nutrition interventions that can help support their bodies throughout treatment. So far in my career I have worked in public/community health and clinical nutrition. My primary client focus is with toddlers, young children, and teens.
I am married to my best friend, Jeff (or as I commonly refer to in my posts – hub). He is the reason I now live in Phoenix. After almost 4 years of adjusting to the desert, I think I’ve actually learned to love the state more than he does. We are parents to a golden retriever and a little orange cat, both of which we named after Ohio State football players (I’ll send you a free copy of my E-book if you can correctly guess who!). We are always on the go, but somehow find the time to enjoy this beautiful city as much as we can.
In my spare time I love to cook, bake, and develop my own, original recipes. You may have followed my previous blog, nibbleonnutrition; well, this is just a little extension of where I started. My world doesn’t just revolve around food. I also love to run, hike, and enjoy the outdoors as much as I can. We recently moved into our new home, which we helped plan and design, and it definitely consumes a good chunk of my extra time on the weekends.
I hope you find a little joy in reading about my favorite ways to stay healthy, where you can find me chowing down on the weekends, or maybe even try one of my recipes. I am always open to ideas on what to share or post and love answering nutrition-related questions, so please feel free to contact me at any time or leave comments with questions!
