I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and product of Ohio who now happily resides in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been a practicing Registered Dietitian for about 3 years and recently received a Certificate in Training for Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Currently, I’m continuing my education at Arizona State University and working full time in South Phoenix. I love my job and responsibility to help people connect food with health. So far in my career I have worked in public and community health. My primary client focus is with young children and teens.
I am married to my best friend; he is the reason I now live in Phoenix. I believe I have actually learned to love the state more that he does. We are parents to a feisty little golden retriever and a grumpy, extra fluffy cat. We are always on the go, but somehow find the time to enjoy this beautiful city as much as we can.
In my spare time I love to cook, bake, and develop my own, original recipes. You may have followed my previous blog, nibbleonnutrition; well, this is just a little extension of where I started. My world doesn’t just revolve around food. I also love to run, hike, and enjoy the outdoors as much as I can. I currently am attempting to convince my husband to buy a fixer-upper home in Central Phoenix so I can also take a stab at designing my dream home (maybe he will eventually agree to this one!).
I hope you find a little joy in reading about my favorite ways to stay healthy, where you can find me chowing down on the weekends, or maybe even try one of my recipes. I am always open to ideas on what to share or post and love answering nutrition-related questions, so please feel free to contact me at any time or leave comments with questions!
